6th Grade & 7th Grade (A-I)

My name is Kim Brown, and I am honored to be returning for my second year as the Assistant Principal for Curriculum at Meadowlawn Middle School.

Before joining the Lancer family, I served as the Assistant Principal for Curriculum for three years at Richard L. Sanders School. I began my educational career in Pinellas County Public Schools in 2012 as a teacher at Maximo Elementary School. After seven years in the classroom, I transitioned to an Administrative Dean position in Manatee County, where I served for four years before returning to Pinellas County as an Assistant Principal.

I was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Criminal Justice from Florida International University. In 2010, my family and I relocated to St. Petersburg, where I continued my education at the University of South Florida, earning two additional master’s degrees—one in Elementary Education and another in Educational Leadership.

Outside of school, I’m a proud mother of two vibrant and active teenagers. You’ll often find me cheering on my kids at football games or cheer events. I also enjoy reading, traveling, shopping, and most importantly, spending quality time with my family.

I’m truly excited to continue being a part of the Lancer family and look forward to the incredible moments we will share together this school year!

Warm regards,

Mrs. Kim Brown

Lancer Family,

I am honored to be returning to Meadowlawn for my fifth (5) year. Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal, I spent 5 years as the Pinellas County Schools PreK-12 Health and Physical Education Instructional Staff Developer.  Before that, I began teaching at Carwise Middle School and Clearwater Intermediate School, teaching 6th-8th and 5th-9th graders in Health and Physical Education. I served as the athletic coordinator, coached volleyball, basketball, and track, and was the department head.

I now consider Florida my home but grew up in Buffalo, New York and Green, Ohio before attending Kent State University. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in health and physical education at Kent State. I earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.

Outside of school, I am a mama bear to two active and caring boys. One is going into 2nd grade while the other starts his sophmore year.  We are a baseball family and spend most weekends at baseball tournaments and little league games. My family enjoys boating, camping, playing sports, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. I am so happy to be a part of the Lancer family and can’t wait to be a part of another extremely successful school year.
